Cyber Security Engineer

Role Overview
The candidate will support and administer enterprise security tools in a public-sector environment. This role focuses on Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), Vulnerability Management, and general SOC support activities. The client is seeking visa-independent candidates only and prefers candidates located in Richmond, VA.

Key Responsibilities
• Administer, maintain, and tune EDR tools to reduce false positives and improve threat visibility
• Manage vulnerability management systems, including scans, asset inventory, and remediation
• Provide security operations support, respond to alerts, and resolve tickets within SLAs

Required Skills
• Experience administering EDR platforms
• Experience with vulnerability management tools
• Strong understanding of security technologies and operations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred Certifications
• Security+
• CrowdStrike Certified Falcon Administrator (CCFA)
• Tenable Certification
• Other relevant cybersecurity certifications
