Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer II with 2 5 years of experience to support large-scale codepath analysis and migration efforts within a high-volume Hack codebase environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong debugging capabilities, experience working with complex codebases, and the ability to quickly analyze and interpret technical infrastructure.

This is a contract role based onsite in Menlo Park, CA.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform codepath analysis and migration across large, similar asset sets

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues across multiple systems and platforms

• Analyze complex codebases (primarily Hack; also C++ and Python) to understand system architecture

• Navigate and interpret detailed stack traces to identify root causes

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery

• Document technical findings and contribute to workflow/process improvements

• Adapt quickly to evolving project requirements and new technologies

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2 5 years of professional software engineering experience

• Strong debugging and troubleshooting expertise across technical infrastructure

• Experience working with large, complex codebases (Hack preferred)

• Proficiency in C++, Python, and MySQL

• Ability to rapidly understand, analyze, and modify intricate systems

• Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with codepath or large-scale code migration projects

• Exposure to process optimization and workflow improvement initiatives

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
