Job Title: Senior Cerner Data / ETL Developer
Location: Remote
Duration: Contract
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cerner Data / ETL Developer with deep expertise in healthcare systems, clinical workflows, and EHR platforms. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with Cerner Millennium, CCL scripting, and enterprise data integration to support large-scale implementations, migrations, and optimization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze clinical workflows and healthcare operations to support data-driven solutions
- Support and enhance large-scale EHR implementations, migrations, and optimization efforts
- Translate clinical and business requirements into technical specifications and ETL workflows
- Design, develop, and optimize Cerner Command Language (CCL) scripts
- Work with Cerner Millennium architecture and Oracle databases
- Develop and maintain ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading
- Build and support healthcare data integrations and reporting environments
- Develop and consume REST/SOA-based services for interoperability
- Perform data extraction, migration, and system integration activities
- Optimize system performance, including query tuning and ETL enhancements
- Collaborate with cross-functional clinical, technical, and business teams
- Support production environments, troubleshooting issues and ensuring system reliability
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations
- Proven experience with large-scale EHR implementations, migrations, or optimization projects
- Hands-on experience with Cerner Command Language (CCL), including script development and tuning
- Working knowledge of Cerner Millennium architecture and Oracle databases
- Strong SQL skills and experience in Linux/Unix environments
- Hands-on experience in ETL design, development, and support
- Experience with healthcare data integrations and reporting systems
- Experience developing REST/SOA services and APIs
- Knowledge of distributed systems, networking, and performance tuning
- Strong experience in data extraction, system integration, and code development
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, C, C++, Perl, or OCI tools)
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or OCI)
