Job Description

CDM Smith is looking for a Structural Engineering Fall Co-Op to join the team! You'll be working with a dynamic team of industry leading engineers on a diverse portfolio of public, federal, and industrial projects. Are you ready to take the next step in your career? CDM Smith's structural engineering experience encompasses a comprehensive array of services, including: -Existing Structures: -Disaster Response (Flooding, Wind, Earthquake, Snow, Fire) -Design of Stabilization (Temporary Shoring and Bracing) -Structural Condition Surveys & Assessment -Seismic Evaluation & Retrofit New Structures: -Water Treatment Plants -Pump Stations -Earth Retaining Systems -Shallow & Deep Foundations -Industrial Facilities In this role you would perform a variety of tasks including: CADD Design Project, will be trained to learn CDM Smith CAD Standards. Web searches and product data updates. Excel spread sheet development (macro routines, repetitious calcs). Structural library cataloging. Field inspection work. Shop Drawing reviews.

Skills and Abilities

Intermediate Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Knowledge of engineer principles of design. Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Good written and verbal communications skills. Intermediate knowledge of engineering analysis/design software (e.g. Revit, STAAD, RISA).

Background Check and Drug Testing Information

CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as "CDM Smith") reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions.
