Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and operate backend services using a modern technology stack. This role involves contributing to architectural decisions, ensuring system performance and reliability, and mentoring other engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deliver backend features across .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core) and Node.js/TypeScript services.
- Write production-ready code with appropriate testing, logging, and observability.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to system design decisions.
- Identify and resolve performance, reliability, and scalability issues.
- Build and operate services deployed on Kubernetes, understanding pod lifecycle, resource management, and rollout strategies.
- Work with AWS and/or Azure managed services (storage, messaging, compute, monitoring).
- Design and implement services using Cloudflare Workers, including Durable Objects, KV, R2, and Queues.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes and Cloudflare-based deployments.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
- Conduct high-quality code reviews that improve correctness, performance, and maintainability.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, feedback, and technical guidance.
- Apply and promote responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering.
Technical Skills:- Proficiency in .NET (C#) or Node.js/TypeScript (experience with both is a plus).
- Production experience with Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure.
- Practical experience with Cloudflare Workers in production environments.
- Understanding of REST API design, authentication, and versioning.
- Experience with relational databases and query optimization.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
- Professional fluency in English.
- Working proficiency with AI-assisted development tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working across both AWS and Azure.
- Familiarity with service mesh, GitOps, or advanced Kubernetes tooling.
- Experience with event-driven architectures or messaging systems.
- Background working in Agile product teams.
