Job SummaryThe Construction Manager will lead the planning, execution, and final commissioning of a project to convert an existing facility into a mission-critical data center. This role requires a specialist with deep expertise in large-scale Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems,
power redundancy, and the unique challenges of upgrading infrastructure into a resilient, enterprise-grade data center environment. The manager will serve as the owner's representative, ensuring the project meets strict quality, safety, budget, and schedule standards.
Key Responsibilities- Project Oversight & Execution: Manage the full project lifecycle, from design review through commissioning and handoff to operations.
- Infrastructure Upgrades: Oversee enhancements to power distribution systems, including PDUs, installation of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and integration of backup generators to meet data center uptime and redundancy requirements.
- MEP & Cooling Systems: Lead the design and implementation of advanced cooling systems, such as Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units, to support data center thermal and airflow demands.
- Network Infrastructure: Manage procurement and installation of high-performance network systems, including fiber optic cabling and switching equipment, to support enterprise-level data operations.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Act as the primary liaison for general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and vendors, overseeing contracts and performance.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all work meets rigorous quality standards and complies with applicable building codes and safety regulations, including Life Safety, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to scope, schedule, cost, and safety throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including submittals and RFIs, and deliver consistent status updates to higher leadership.
