The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a global market leader in smart hardware and connected device solutions to recruit experienced Senior Firmware Engineers. Operating in a hybrid model out of the Greater Vancouver, BC region, this industry pioneer develops intelligent, AI-integrated consumer security systems utilized by millions of subscribers worldwide.

In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with seasoned engineering veterans to push the boundaries of connected hardware, driving the development of next-generation firmware deployed on high-volume, cloud-integrated hardware platforms.

What You'll Do

  • Architect intricate embedded software modules across full lifecycles, taking complete ownership from initial design through final validation.

  • Drive the execution of core feature roadmaps across multiple active product verticals.

  • Engineer high-performance embedded systems while meticulously optimizing code for memory footprint, processing speed, and power efficiency.

  • Spearhead board bring-up for novel silicon architectures, sensor packages, and integrated chipsets alongside hardware, mobile, and cloud engineering divisions.

  • Interface directly with overseas original design manufacturers (ODMs) to streamline production alignment and deployment.

  • Guide technical project teams through cross-functional mentorship, elevating code quality and architectural standards.

What You Bring

  • Embedded Firmware Engineering experience spanning at least 8 years post-graduation within commercial product environments.

  • C Programming and C++ Programming expertise applied directly to low-level systems architecture.

  • Linux Kernel and RTOS development proficiency for real-time embedded environments.

  • Wireless Networks and IP Networking Protocols implementation background within connected hardware.

  • Silicon Bring-Up and System On Chip integration background working directly with hardware interfaces.

  • Technical Leadership and Engineering Mentorship track record guiding collaborative engineering groups.

  • University Degree or Graduate Diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Compensation & Total Rewards

Base salary ranges from CAD $180,000 to CAD $250,000 annually (paid bi-weekly), complemented by performance bonuses and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The role offers a highly flexible hybrid work arrangement requiring occasional onsite collaboration at the local engineering hub.
