Job Description:
Maintenance Technician
Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians to support a high-speed food manufacturing and packaging operation that runs in a continuous 24/7 production environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining production equipment, facility systems, and utility assets to ensure efficient and reliable operations.

Successful candidates will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
Schedule & Career Development

This position operates on a 10-hour shift schedule with rotating workdays throughout the week.

Current Openings:
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 12:30 AM
  • 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 8:30 AM

Additional Requirements:
  • Weekend availability required
  • Rotating schedule, including 4-on/4-off arrangements depending on department needs
Growth Opportunities

Technicians participate in a structured skills assessment program every six months. Evaluations focus on:
  • Technical knowledge
  • Maintenance proficiency
  • Equipment troubleshooting capabilities
  • Safety performance

Employees who demonstrate increased competency and mastery of maintenance skills may be eligible for performance-based wage increases.
Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment and facility systems.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment components.
  • Adjust and calibrate machinery and process control devices.
  • Maintain electrical controls, instrumentation, and related equipment.
  • Support production uptime by responding promptly to equipment issues.
  • Follow all safety policies and promote a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations personnel to improve equipment reliability.
  • Document maintenance activities and repairs as required.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements.
Preferred Technical Skills

Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Industrial electrical systems (480V)
  • AC/DC electrical theory
  • Motors and motor controls
  • Control circuits
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Mechanical maintenance and repair
  • Pumps and pump rebuilding
  • Digital electronics
  • Power distribution systems
  • Electrical testing instruments
  • Blueprint and schematic reading
  • Computerized maintenance systems

Preferred but not required:
  • Boiler operations experience
  • Ammonia refrigeration experience
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Associate degree from a technical school or two-year college preferred; OR
  • One year of industrial, mechanical, automotive, diesel, or maintenance-related experience; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Strong math and reading comprehension skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete a maintenance skills evaluation.


Skills-Based Pay Progression
  • Performance evaluations occur every six months.
  • Employees can earn additional increases through demonstrated maintenance expertise and successful completion of skills assessments.
  • Top pay can be reached through continued skill development and applied technical competency.
Work Environment

This position is performed in a manufacturing environment where employees may be exposed to:
  • Moving mechanical equipment

  • Dust, fumes, and airborne particles
  • Chemicals used in manufacturing operations
