Job description:
Lead hardware testing and validation activities for body and interior components.
Plan and coordinate testing from setup through execution, analysis, and reporting.
Develop test plans, protocols, inspection procedures, and data analysis reports.
Design and fabricate custom fixtures for complex bench test setups.
Perform root cause analysis on test failures and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve issues.
Manage testing schedules, supplier coordination, and logistics for test parts and materials.
Create and maintain validation documentation including DVPRs, test specifications, and reports.
Review test results and provide summarized insights to Design Release Engineers (DREs).
Support DVP sign-offs, PPAP/LQP processes, and product launch readiness (SOP).
Coordinate internal OEM-level validation tests and travel to external test sites when required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of automotive testing and validation experience (OEM, Tier-1 supplier, or test laboratory).
Hands-on experience with standard lab equipment (environmental chambers, shaker tables, DAQ systems, actuators, sensors, etc.).
Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA, 3DX, or SolidWorks.
Knowledge of automotive product development lifecycle and validation milestones.
Familiarity with FMVSS and international regulatory requirements.
Experience with Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with interior materials such as plastics, polymers, fabrics, and foams.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection molding, lamination, painting, IMD/IML, and finishing processes.
Understanding of interior assembly methods (fasteners, adhesives, welding, clips).
