Role : BI Platform Architect (Reporting, BOBJ & Power BI)
Location :: Alpharetta GA (OR) Bay area , CA (weekly one day to office)

Rate : $70/Hr on C2C/1099
Role Summary
We are seeking a BI Platform Architect to lead and govern our enterprise reporting platforms, with primary responsibility for SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ) and Microsoft Power BI. This role will serve as the technical lead for reporting strategy, platform governance, modernization initiatives, and the migration of legacy BusinessObjects reports to Power BI. The ideal candidate combines deep platform expertise with strong stakeholder management and solution architecture skills.
Key Responsibilities
Own the architecture, administration, governance, and roadmap for BusinessObjects and Power BI platforms.
Lead the assessment, planning, and execution of the BusinessObjects to Power BI migration strategy.
Define reporting standards, semantic layer design, security models, and BI best practices.
Partner with business stakeholders to modernize reporting and analytics capabilities.
Evaluate existing BOBJ reports and universes, identify migration approaches, and prioritize migration waves.
Provide architectural guidance for Power BI datasets, semantic models, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
Establish platform monitoring, performance optimization, capacity planning, and support processes.
Collaborate with Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Security, and Infrastructure teams.
Define self-service BI governance and enablement strategies.
Mentor report developers and BI analysts on Power BI best practices.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Reporting Platforms.
Strong hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects administration and development.
Strong Power BI architecture and administration experience.
Experience leading enterprise-scale BI modernization or migration initiatives.
Experience designing semantic models, datasets, row-level security, and governance frameworks.
Strong SQL and data warehousing knowledge.
Experience working with Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare or Insurance industry experience.
Experience migrating BusinessObjects Universes and Web Intelligence reports to Power BI.
Familiarity with Azure ecosystem, Power Platform, and Microsoft Fabric.
Experience with BI platform governance and Center of Excellence models.
