Cost Engineer / Product Design - Raymond, OH9-month contract assignment (extension possible)

Overview / Qualifications
- Product costing and Manufacturing Strategies from concept through production
- Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and cost competitiveness.
- Develop detailed should-cost models for both piece price and tooling/investment using cost modeling tools (aPriori or other models)
- Support RFQ activities by analyzing supplier quotations and validating pricing.
- Assess cost impacts resulting from engineering design changes.
- Provide cost analysis and data to support supplier negotiations.
- Identify VA/VE opportunities and recommend cost reduction initiatives.
- Maintain cost tracking, reporting, and analysis tools to provide visibility into project performance.
Requirements
- Strong background in cost engineering and manufacturing processes
- Experience with should-cost modeling and cost analysis methodologies
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes: Injection molding, Metal stamping, Metal fabrication, Thermoforming, Mechanical assembly
You will be working from engineering / sourcing information provided:
- Product specifications and cost targets
- Project timing and program milestones
- CAD models and Bill of Materials (BOM) data
- Supplier quotations and supporting documentation.
Preferred Software Experience aPriori
Microsoft Excel - Advanced with creating reports and cost analysis
Microsoft PowerPoint
CATIA V6 or comparable CAD viewing software
EducationDegree preferred but not required.
