Overview / Qualifications


  • Product costing and Manufacturing Strategies from concept through production

  • Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and cost competitiveness.

  • Develop detailed should-cost models for both piece price and tooling/investment using cost modeling tools (aPriori or other models)

  • Support RFQ activities by analyzing supplier quotations and validating pricing.

  • Assess cost impacts resulting from engineering design changes.

  • Provide cost analysis and data to support supplier negotiations.

  • Identify VA/VE opportunities and recommend cost reduction initiatives.

  • Maintain cost tracking, reporting, and analysis tools to provide visibility into project performance.


Requirements


  • Strong background in cost engineering and manufacturing processes

  • Experience with should-cost modeling and cost analysis methodologies

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes: Injection molding, Metal stamping, Metal fabrication, Thermoforming, Mechanical assembly


You will be working from engineering / sourcing information provided:


  • Product specifications and cost targets

  • Project timing and program milestones

  • CAD models and Bill of Materials (BOM) data

  • Supplier quotations and supporting documentation.


Preferred Software Experience


aPriori


Microsoft Excel - Advanced with creating reports and cost analysis


Microsoft PowerPoint


CATIA V6 or comparable CAD viewing software

Education


Degree preferred but not required.
