JOB TITLE: Process Improvement Engineer I

PAY: $75,000 - $85,000/year

HOURS: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

LOCATION: Jonestown, PA 17038
BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Process Improvement Engineer I is responsible for developing and maintaining engineered standards while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall operations at the Customer Fulfillment Center (CFC). This position works closely with cross-functional teams to analyze processes, conduct time studies, develop labor standards, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements.

The role also provides opportunities to develop skills in data analytics, SQL, AutoCAD, scripting, and other process improvement technologies.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement effective and efficient process improvements while minimizing risk to associates and operations.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional meetings to establish key performance measures and monitor results.
  • Develop and maintain engineered standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and labor reporting systems for the CFC.
  • Partner with Operations to improve labor reporting, workforce utilization, and overall performance.
  • Conduct time studies and work measurement analyses to determine optimal processes and labor standards.
  • Develop slotting optimization reports to reduce labor requirements and improve operational efficiency.
  • Create process layouts that support best practices and efficient workflow.
  • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks.
  • Develop and document standard cost data for process improvement analysis.
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses to determine the financial feasibility of proposed process improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Foster the MSC Culture throughout the department and company.
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Plan, prioritize, and accomplish assigned goals with limited supervision.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Industrial Engineering required.
  • 2-4 years of engineering experience in a distribution environment required.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining work measurement systems preferred.
  • Experience working with labor reporting systems preferred.
  • Experience developing and maintaining engineered standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of fundamental engineering and process improvement concepts, practices, and procedures.
SKILLS:
  • Strong data manipulation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and process improvement abilities.
  • Computer proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Excel

    • Microsoft PowerPoint

    • AutoCAD
  • Experience with engineered standards development tools.
  • Ability to conduct time studies and analyze operational processes.
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid driver\'s license required.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Must be able to work in a distribution center environment.
  • Physical demands may include standing, walking, lifting materials up to 75 pounds individually or as a team, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching high and low.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to operate at heights up to 50 feet.
  • Must maintain mental alertness and coordination throughout the shift.
