As a Validation Manager, you will lead, develop and mentor a dedicated team of engineers working on automation and flows for chip validation and characterization. In this role, you will curate methodology used across product development teams and work collaboratively across a driven and focused design team.

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and scale an IC validation engineering team to provide cross-functional technical leadership from product concept to mass production
  • Must have a high level of technical expertise to guide and develop technical leads in emulation and validation
  • Define KPIs to measure validation metrics and drive efficiency and productivity across the organization
  • Drive decisions on test strategies with collaboration between design, systems engineering and product development teams
  • Execution of test plans ensuring complete coverage and traceability of feature/system requirements
  • Leadership skills in inspiring, driving, and executing results through direct and cross-functional teams
  • Communicate clearly and frequently with the direct development teams as well as with the broader cross-functional organization and senior management, to ensure that the technical plan is successfully executed and that business segment objectives are met
  • Participate in developing methodologies for chip test and validation from requirements through tape-out
  • Contribute towards the continuous development of Tools, Technology and Flows
  • Foster a culture of continuous engineering improvement through mentorship, feedback, and metrics
  • Develop trainings and documentation, supporting your team and product development
  • Collaborate closely with IC Design engineers, Systems engineers and Application Engineers to collaborate in test and validation methodologies

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years of validation experience, with at least 2 years of experience in leadership roles
  • Experience with lab management, people management, project management and test bench setup
  • Strong debug skills, ability to learn and resolve complex issues
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and hire
  • Able to handle engineering tasks, on an as needed basis, combining experience in Characterization, Failure Analysis, Test Development, Statistical analysis and Customer Support
  • Mixed Signal background with experience in audio and power analysis
  • Ability to organize assignments and schedule time to complete work you're doing within established timelines
  • Creative problem solver

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mixed-Signal Design & Development experience
  • Strong background in circuit design, including analog signal chains, power electronics, and audio signal processing, alongside experience in custom test platform development
  • Develop automated test framework, regression test suites in TestStand / Python and/or LabVIEW to optimize validation efficiency
  • Develop and work with supporting HW (PXI, FPGA, DSP, ARM, 8051, JTAG, Scopes, debuggers) and SW (Python, C, Assembly, scripts) collaterals
  • Develop tests and work on testing platform NI-STS (HSDIO / DSA / bench-top equipment)
