The University of West Florida (UWF) Center for Cybersecurity and AI (CCAI) in Pensacola, Florida, invites applications for a Desktop Support Engineer II position (position number 125750), with a working title of IT Manager. This is a full-time staff position (1.0 FTE) with an anticipated start date of September 14, 202. The salary range for this position is $91,000 - $101,000 based on qualifications and experience. This position will report to the CCAI office in Downtown Pensacola.
Job Summary
UWF is seeking an experienced and passionate IT Manager to manage the University of West Florida Center for Cybersecurity and AI's infrastructure, including the Florida Cyber Range, data center, AI servers, and supporting networks. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, securing, and improving the Center's infrastructure and systems. The role supports cybersecurity education, research, and outreach activities by ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing technology.
Minimum Qualifications
Recent related credential or certification and practical knowledge of the job area, advanced education or 2 years of work experience in a Systems support role.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with:
- Virtualization platforms (Proxmox, VMware, KVM, Citrix)
- Windows, Linux, and MacOS systems
- Network devices, firewalls, routers, and switches
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SQL Server, and web services
- Cybersecurity standards and compliance (STIG, CIS, NIST SP 800-53)
- VPNs, PKI, SSL/TLS, and digital certificates
- Storage technologies (NAS, SAN, NFS)
- Data center hardware, cabling, and server installation
- Cloud identity and device management tools such as Microsoft Entra and JumpCloud.
