Summary

Blu Omega is seeking a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer that will design, implement, and manage our clients growing cloud infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build CI/CD pipelines and deploy applications to Kubernetes clusters.

Responsibilities:

Create detailed architecture and system design diagrams, and ADRs
Design and implement cloud infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform and Azure using Terraform
Take lead on projects with complex or vague requirements, break down tasks and help more junior members on the team
Participate in architectural review decisions
Keep abreast of technology trends and share it with the wider organization, experiment and automate existing solutions
Create CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions
Deploy and manage containerized applications running in Kubernetes
Monitor and support applications in production systems
Mentor others on the team

Qualifications:

6+ years experience with cloud platforms and proven ability in building secure and scalable solutions. Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) preferred, but Azure and AWS are acceptable as well
4+ years of software engineering experience
Strong system design skills
Big-picture thinking - focus on system architecture, maintainability, and security
Self-driven with the ability to identify problems and propose improvements, and an attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Ability to handle ambiguity and take vaguely defined problems and translate them to actionable plans. Own projects end-to-end and be accountable for them.
Proactive in getting information, understand overarching objectives, consider costs, constraints, and security implications, follow processes and best practices without oversight
Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical problems in simple terms to various stakeholders
Strong mentoring and leadership skills
Experience with various cloud offerings like GKE, GCR, GCS, Pub/Sub, Firestore, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, etc or equivalents in other cloud platforms
Proficient in using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform to deploy above resources
Strong familiarity with Kubernetes and the ability to manage and debug application running on clusters
Familiar with Kustomize and Helm
Knowledgeable about containerization tools like Docker, Podman, etc
Proven experience writing, maintaining, and debugging CI/CD pipelines with Github Actions and/or Gitlab
Familiar with observability tools like Prometheus, Alertmanager, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, etc
Extremely proficient in git
Knowledgeable about GitOps tools like ArgoCD
Proficient in scripting languages like Bash, Python, etc and familiarity with NodeJS and Dotnet
Understanding of building and packaging Python, NodeJS, and Dotnet projects
Experience working on Linux systems
Familiarity with testing tools for unit, integration, and regression testing
Understanding of networking concepts and IAM policies

Nice to Have:

Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases
Understanding of software architecture and ability to push for standards and best practices across multiple teams
Familiarity with SecOps practices
Understanding of Elasticsearch

Salary Range: $125K- $150K
Our final salary offer will be based on several factors, including depth of technical skills, work experience, education, certifications, and clearance
