Job Summary
We are seeking a Cloud FinOps Consultant with strong expertise in cloud cost management, cost analytics, and optimization strategies. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, finance, and operations teams to monitor cloud usage, develop forecasting models, and implement cost optimization strategies across cloud environments. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate cloud cost insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and manage cloud infrastructure costs across enterprise cloud environments.
Develop cloud cost analytics dashboards and forecasting models to predict usage trends and budget requirements.
Identify and implement cost optimization strategies including rightsizing, reserved instances, savings plans, and resource scheduling.
Track and monitor cloud resource utilization to ensure cost efficiency and performance optimization.
Collaborate with engineering, finance, DevOps, and business teams to establish cloud governance and cost accountability.
Present cloud usage insights, reports, and cost-saving recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
Build and maintain FinOps frameworks, policies, and best practices for cloud cost governance.
Monitor cloud spend and ensure alignment with organizational budgets and financial targets.
Required Skills
Strong experience in Cloud FinOps and cloud cost management.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience building cost analytics dashboards, reporting models, and forecasting frameworks.
Knowledge of cloud pricing models, billing structures, and cost allocation strategies.
Experience implementing cost optimization techniques such as:
Rightsizing resources
Reserved Instances Savings Plans
Auto-scaling optimization
Storage tier optimization
Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with FinOps tools such as CloudHealth, Cloudability, Apptio, or native cloud cost management tools.
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
Knowledge of automation and scripting (Python, SQL, or similar) for cost analysis.
