Job Details

Project Manager - Mission Critical Controls
Location: North Dakota, Fargo

About the Role: We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the execution of mission critical controls projects supporting data centers and other critical facilities. This role is responsible for managing projects from kickoff through commissioning and closeout, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer requirements.

The ideal candidate has experience managing controls, automation, or electrical projects and enjoys working with customers, engineering teams, and field personnel to successfully deliver complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple mission critical controls projects from award through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement, and project execution plans.
  • Coordinate engineering, field installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review project drawings, submittals, and technical documentation.
  • Track project costs, change orders, purchase orders, and billing.
  • Identify project risks and resolve technical and scheduling issues.
  • Coordinate commissioning, system startup, testing, and final turnover.
  • Maintain project documentation and provide regular project updates to leadership.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of project management experience in controls, automation, electrical, industrial, or mission critical construction projects.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and customer relationships.
  • Working knowledge of PLC, SCADA, building automation, electrical controls, or related automation systems.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred (or ability to obtain after hire).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.

Preferred Experience
  • Data centers or other mission critical facilities
  • PLC, SCADA, or building automation systems
  • Power monitoring or electrical distribution
  • Commissioning and startup of controls systems

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Ability to work in active construction environments.
  • Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and wear required PPE.
