Spanish AML Business Analyst

Description
One of our Big 5 Bank client is delivering a high-priority transformation initiative, focused on strengthening AML, financial controls, and payments-related compliance capabilities across global markets.
We are seeking a Business Analyst with full Spanish fluency who brings experience in AML, payments, or sanctions. This individual will operate at the intersection of business, compliance, and technology, driving requirements, process improvements, and scalable solutions across regulatory-driven programs.
This is a high-visibility role with exposure to stakeholders across Canada and LATAM.
Job Duties:
- Act as the primary liaison between business, compliance, and technology teams
- Lead requirements gathering, validation, and documentation (BRDs, functional specs)
- Facilitate workshops with Spanish-speaking stakeholders across LATAM
- Translate regulatory and business requirements into process flows and technical solutions
- Support initiatives across one or more domains:
AML (Transaction Monitoring, KYC / CDD / EDD, Investigations)
Payments (payment processing, controls, regulatory compliance)
Sanctions (screening, compliance workflows, risk controls)

This role is positioned as a Spanish-speaking AML Business Analyst, supporting a high-priority transformation program.
The hiring manager fully understands that candidates with deep, hands-on AML experience combined with full Spanish fluency are difficult to find in the current market. As a result, while AML experience remains the core focus, the team is open to considering candidates with experience in related domains such as payments or sanctions, provided they have a solid foundational understanding of AML concepts and processes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working across business, compliance, and technology teams, engaging heavily with Spanish-speaking stakeholders across LATAM, and contributing to regulatory-driven initiatives.
Candidates coming from payments or sanctions backgrounds must still demonstrate a clear understanding of AML fundamentals, including areas such as transaction monitoring, KYC/CDD processes, or financial compliance frameworks. The ability to translate regulatory requirements into business solutions and effectively operate in an AML-driven environment is essential.
Above all, Spanish fluency is a non-negotiable requirement, and candidates must be comfortable leading meetings, facilitating workshops, and producing documentation entirely in Spanish within a professional banking environment.
