Amida Technology Solutions is seeking a
Junior Technical Writer. This role will report to the Content & Marketing Manager. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to support public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private companies in transforming their data into actionable insights. Preference will be given to candidates able to work a hybrid schedule in our offices in DC or Richmond, VA.
The Junior Technical Writer will produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our projects. This individual will develop a thorough understanding of one or more of our customer-facing projects and will compose clear, coherent project documentation (status reports, detailed analysis, training manuals, etc.) for our customers. The Junior Technical Writer will collaborate with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to document project details and technical methodologies, as well as to produce other relevant assets.
What You Will Do: - Assist in the writing and/or editing of technical documents - including (but not limited to) business proposals, reports, user manuals, briefings, white papers, presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, special reports, and other project deliverables
- Develop outlines and drafts for technical specialists and project managers to review to ensure final documents meet applicable contract requirements and regulations
- Research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables
- Consult relevant information sources - including library resources, technical and financial documents, and client and project personnel - to obtain background information and verify the pertinent guidelines and regulations that govern project deliverables
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education: - Bachelor's degree, preferably in English, communications, or technology
Required Experience: - 2 years of experience in technical writing
Required Skills: - Ability to convert complex technical concepts into understandable copy
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills
- Capacity to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail
Preferred Skills: - Prior experience in the healthcare sector or a government contracting firm
Required Materials: - Submit two writing samples of original work that have not been edited by others
