Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Databricks Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong functional and technical expertise to lead data platform initiatives. This role requires deep experience in Databricks architecture, data engineering, and business-facing analytics, including reporting and dashboard development. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation, delivering scalable, high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary SME for Databricks, providing both functional guidance and technical leadership.
• Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark, SQL).
• Translate business requirements into scalable data models and analytics solutions.
• Develop and maintain reporting and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting needs.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and performance optimization across the data platform.
• Support data integration from multiple sources (ERP systems, APIs, cloud platforms).
• Lead troubleshooting, performance tuning, and best practice implementation.
• Mentor team members and contribute to data strategy and architecture decisions.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience in building dashboards and reports using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Ability to work across both functional (business-facing) and technical domains.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
• Familiarity with enterprise systems such as SAP , Salesforce etc
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments.
