Scope of Work/Job Characteristics
The Enterprise Systems Administrator shall serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the Department. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:
Perform Microsoft Azure Entra ID and Active Directory management activities.
Develop and maintain processes that optimize Microsoft Azure resources;
Analyze Azure resource performance to identify resource contention and recommend changes or upgrades as needed to ensure optimization;
Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation;
Work with data center staff, OIT, and users to perform resource deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes;
Administer and configure Azure and AWS infrastructure security as needed for OIT staff and users;
Assist Azure and AWS application owners, administrators, and users with appropriate application access;
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows server issues with minimal impact on users;
Write PowerShell scripts to be used to monitor server properties and perform Active Directory and Azure management activities.
Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements;
Provide recommendations for possible process improvements within the Department s infrastructure team; and
Perform additional Systems Administrator tasks as required by the Department.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor s or master s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience is required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable.
The Department requires the following experience, skills, and knowledge for this position:
A minimum of five (5) years of Windows server administration experience with three (3) years administering Windows 2016 and newer;
A minimum of three (3) years of Microsoft Azure and Cloud experience;
A minimum of one (1) years of AWS experience;
A minimum of five (5) years administering Active Directory, Domain Name System (DNS), and Group Policy in environments with over 1,000 users;
Experience writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts.
Experience working in virtual server and Cloud environments;
Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting third-party applications; and
Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
The Department prefers the Candidate to have the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position:
Experience managing projects with a large, distributed user base;
Experience developing and managing schedules for multiple projects;
Experience working in AWS Cloud;
Experience with state government projects;
Experience managing and reporting project metrics in strict compliance with Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C.;
Experience working with technical programming teams;
Ability to demonstrate a professional can-do attitude with the initiative to solve complex problems;
Knowledge of Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA) security standards;
Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment;
Knowledge in other IT areas such as programming, data analytics, etc.;
Proven team player attitude with a high-energy level and diligent work ethic; and
Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and organize and prioritize activities.
