Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP PTP (Procure-to-Pay) Functional Consultant with strong hands-on experience in SAP MM, S/4HANA Procurement, Inventory Management, and SAP Ariba. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, configuring, and supporting end-to-end procurement and PTP processes in complex manufacturing or enterprise environments.

The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical teams to deliver scalable SAP procurement solutions, support integrations, and drive process improvements across purchasing, inventory, supplier management, and invoice processing.

Key Responsibilities

•             Lead end-to-end SAP PTP / Procurement implementations, rollouts, enhancements, and production support.

•             Gather business requirements and conduct AS-IS / TO-BE analysis and Fit-Gap workshops.

•             Configure and support SAP MM procurement processes, including:

o             Purchase Requisitions (PR)

o             Purchase Orders (PO)

o             RFQs and source determination

o             Contracts and scheduling agreements

o             Release strategies / approval workflows

o             Goods Receipt (GR)

o             Invoice Receipt (IR)

o             GR/IR clearing

o             Service Entry Sheets (SES)

o             Subcontracting

o             Consignment

o             Third-party procurement

o             Special procurement processes

•             Configure and support vendor/supplier lifecycle management and purchasing master data.

•             Work with Material Master, Business Partner/Vendor Master, Purchasing Info Records, Source Lists, Quota Arrangements, and related procurement master data.

•             Support SAP S/4HANA Procurement processes and Fiori-based purchasing applications.

•             Configure and support Flexible Workflows for PR, PO, and invoice approvals.

•             Work on procurement integrations with SAP FI/CO, PP, QM, WM/EWM, SD, and Ariba.

•             Support SAP Ariba integration and upstream/downstream procurement processes.

•             Work on supplier and third-party integrations using IDocs, EDI, ALE, RFC, BAPI, SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI, and BTP.

•             Troubleshoot procurement and logistics interfaces and coordinate with technical teams for issue resolution.

•             Support inventory management processes, including:

o             Stock transfers

o             STOs

o             Physical inventory

o             Batch and serial management

o             Special stock

o             Inventory valuation

•             Configure and support account determination, pricing procedures, valuation, and GR/IR reconciliation.

•             Work closely with Finance teams on procurement-to-payment integration, including invoice processing and payment-related processes.

•             Support data migration activities using tools such as BAPI, LSMW, BDC, LTMC, and other migration/ETL tools.

•             Prepare functional specifications and work with ABAP/technical teams on enhancements, reports, interfaces, workflows, and forms.

•             Lead and participate in SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect resolution, cutover, go-live, and hypercare activities.

•             Support production issues and perform root-cause analysis for PTP and procurement-related problems.

•             Develop training materials and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions for business users.

•             Work within SAP Activate, ASAP, Agile, or Scrum project methodologies.

Required Skills

•             10+ years of SAP MM / PTP experience.

•             Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Procurement and SAP ECC.

•             Strong understanding of complete Procure-to-Pay lifecycle.

•             Experience with SAP MM, Inventory Management, and Procurement.

•             Experience with SAP Ariba is highly preferred.

•             Strong knowledge of PR, PO, contracts, source determination, GR/IR, invoice verification, and payment processes.

•             Experience with SAP FI integration, including account determination and GR/IR.

•             Experience with SAP Fiori procurement applications.

•             Strong experience with procurement workflows and approval processes.

•             Experience with EDI/IDoc/ALE/RFC/BAPI integrations.

•             Understanding of integration between MM and FI, PP, QM, SD, WM/EWM, and Ariba.

•             Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

•             Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Experience

•             Experience working in manufacturing, automotive, industrial, or other complex supply-chain environments.

•             Experience with multi-plant/global SAP implementations and rollouts.

•             Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration or greenfield implementations.

•             Experience with supplier lifecycle management and procurement governance.

•             Experience with SAP MDG/master-data governance.

•             SAP S/4HANA Procurement certification is a plus.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.

Work Arrangement & Travel

•             Remote

•             25–50% travel may be required

•             Travel may include client locations across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

•             Candidates must be willing and able to travel as required.

•             Travel expenses will be covered by the client.
