Summary

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases

Write optimized SQL queries, functions, triggers, and stored procedures

Perform query performance tuning and database optimization

Design database schemas, indexes, and data models

Manage database backups, replication, and recovery strategies

Monitor database performance and troubleshoot production issues

Work closely with application developers to integrate database solutions

Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance standards

Implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions

Required Skills

Strong experience with PostgreSQL (5+ years preferred)

Expertise in SQL, PL/pgSQL

Experience in database performance tuning and query optimization

Knowledge of indexing, partitioning, and replication

Experience with backup and recovery tools

Understanding of ACID properties and transaction management

Experience with Linux/Unix environments

Familiarity with version control systems (Git)

Preferred Skills

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Google Cloud Platform Cloud SQL)

Knowledge of NoSQL databases is a plus

Experience with CI/CD pipelines

Exposure to DevOps practices

Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
