Job Details

PLC Engineer (Data Center / Mission Critical)
Location: Remote with up to 30% travel. You can be based anywhere in the US
Pay: $115,000-$125,000

Overview: We're looking to add a PLC Engineer to support the development and deployment of control systems across large-scale, mission-critical environments. This role is hands-on and client-facing, with a strong focus on delivering reliable, high-performance automation for HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems within data centers.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Design and program PLC-based control systems for HVAC and central plant operations
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and project teams to define system requirements and control strategies
  • Modify and optimize existing PLC programs and system databases
  • Support field teams during startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across PLC logic, hardware, and communication networks
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure seamless system integration
  • Document programming changes, system configurations, and project deliverables

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in PLC programming or controls engineering
  • Strong experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell platforms (Studio 5000)
  • Experience programming central plant systems (chillers, boilers, etc.)
  • Familiarity with redundancy strategies and high-availability control systems
  • Strong troubleshooting, organization, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Software)
  • Experience with Ignition SCADA, HMIs, or EPMS/BMS integrations
  • Background in data centers or mission-critical facilities
