Senior Mobile Engineer (Android / iOS)

Overview

We are building a mission-critical mobile platform that enables real-time communication and situational awareness in environments where traditional connectivity fails. Our technology integrates mobile applications with custom hardware, satellite communications, mesh networking, and cloud services to support high-pressure, safety-critical operations.

We are seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer with strong experience in Android and/or iOS development to design, build, and ship reliable mobile applications used in the field. This role offers end-to-end ownership of features that directly impact performance, reliability, and user safety.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications for Android and iOS

• Build features using Kotlin, Kotlin Multiplatform, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Swift, and RxSwift

• Develop shared core platform logic and client SDKs across mobile platforms

• Integrate with Bluetooth, USB, and device-level protocols to communicate with custom hardware

• Collaborate with backend engineers to design and implement APIs

• Work closely with firmware and electrical engineers to define and evolve communication protocols

• Improve performance, reliability, and user experience in mission-critical scenarios

• Take features from concept through development, testing, and production release

• Establish and iterate on mobile engineering standards, tooling, and best practices

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience developing Android and/or iOS applications

• Strong experience with Kotlin or Swift

• Experience building modern mobile UIs (Jetpack Compose and/or native iOS frameworks)

• Familiarity with Bluetooth (CoreBluetooth), device communication, or low-level integrations

• Experience working with mobile SDKs and shared codebases

• Ability to take ownership and deliver features end-to-end

• Comfortable working across the stack and collaborating with cross-functional teams

• Passion for building reliable, high-impact software used in real-world environments

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform

• Exposure to both Android and iOS development

• Experience with mesh networking, satellite communication, or offline-first applications

• Experience integrating mobile apps with custom hardware

• Interest in working on performance-critical, safety-focused systems
