We are seeking a position for Transmission Line Engineer

Job Summary:

A growing engineering firm is seeking a Mid to Senior Transmission Line Engineer to lead high-voltage overhead and underground transmission line projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of technical decisions, lead projects through the full engineering lifecycle, and contribute to the growth and development of engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in transmission line engineering, PLS-CADD modeling, structural analysis, and utility coordination, along with the ambition to advance into leadership and management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and technical decision-making for high-voltage transmission line projects.
• Perform transmission line design and modeling using PLS-CADD software suites.
• Prepare complete engineering deliverables including:
  • Structure framing packages
  • Sag-tension reports
  • Clearance calculations
  • Foundation designs
• Develop and improve engineering standards, templates, and QA/QC workflows.
• Coordinate with project managers and utility clients to define project scope and technical requirements.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, environmental regulations, and industry standards including NESC, ASCE, and IEEE.
• Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and QA/QC reviews for junior engineers and designers.
• Support construction activities by resolving field issues, reviewing submittals, and responding to RFIs.
• Manage multiple technical tasks and maintain project quality, schedule, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or ability to obtain within 6 12 months.
• 4 7 years of experience in high-voltage transmission line design.
• Strong proficiency in PLS-CADD, structural modeling, and foundation design software.
• Ability to independently make engineering judgments and defend technical decisions.
• Strong leadership mindset with interest in future management responsibilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience preparing technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation.
