CMDB Developer Ford Motor CompanyFord Motor Company is seeking a
ServiceNow CMDB Developer to join the CMDB team. This role is ideal for a developer with strong ServiceNow experience and solid general development practices who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment.
In this position, you will support CMDB initiatives by delivering integrations and automation solutions that improve data completeness, quality, and operational efficiency. You will be involved end-to-end-from solution design through deployment-using industry-standard practices with a focus on reducing technical debt within the ServiceNow platform.
Key Responsibilities- Support CMDB projects by setting up integrations between systems using:
- Service Graph Connectors
- API calls
- Database connectors
- Design and build automations to reduce manual and repetitive tasks
- Contribute to expanding the completeness and accuracy of the CMDB while ensuring high-quality data for customers
- Participate in the full lifecycle of solution delivery, from design through final deployment
- Apply industry-standard development practices to minimize technical debt in ServiceNow
ServiceNow-Specific Requirements- 2+ years of experience working with ServiceNow CMDB
- Expertise in the hierarchy of CMDB tables in ServiceNow
- Understanding of:
- Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
- Service Mapping
- Knowledge of CMDB, ITOM, and ITAM best practices
- Familiarity with:
- ServiceNow update sets
- Flow Designer
- ServiceNow business rules
General Development Requirements- Ability to research new tools and technologies (primarily Service Graph Connectors) and determine best implementation and deployment approaches
- Ability to read, understand, and update existing scripts written in:
- JavaScript
- Python
- PowerShell
High-Level Expertise In- JavaScript
- Setup and configuration of APIs to pull data from external systems into ServiceNow
- Setting up database connections (JDBC) and ETL jobs to ingest data from external systems into ServiceNow
Familiarity With- Python

- Deployment pipelines (Terraform preferred)
