Job Title: Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)

USA Remote 

Role purpose

• We are seeking a hands-on Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to work directly with Corporate Finance leaders and technical teams to identify, shape, prototype, and validate AI and agentic AI opportunities across finance.
• The role will bridge business problem discovery and technical experimentation, rapidly translating finance use cases into working prototypes and helping determine whether the right answer is an AI agent, AI skill/Copilot capability, traditional automation, deterministic solution, or no AI solution at all.

What the FDE will do

AI use-case discovery & shaping

• Partner directly with Finance VPs, CFOs and process leaders to understand business problems and existing workflows
• Identify opportunities where AI and agentic workflows could meaningfully improve finance processes
• Translate business needs into clear, technically actionable use cases
• Help stakeholders understand the practical "art of the possible" for AI

Solution suitability & design

• Assess whether AI is appropriate for a particular business problem
• Determine whether the appropriate solution is an AI agent, narrower AI capability/skill, Copilot solution, traditional automation, deterministic solution, or another approach
• Recognize processes requiring exact and reproducible results where probabilistic AI may not be appropriate
• Recommend when not to use AI, rather than forcing an AI solution

Rapid prototyping

• Convert selected concepts into working prototypes through short development cycles
• Work through focused development sprints ranging from a day through one or two weeks
• Use synthetic data where appropriate to test and demonstrate concepts without requiring production builds
• Capture business feedback rapidly and support decisions to proceed, stop, rethink or redirect the concept
• Manage multiple short prototyping engagements at different stages

Business & technical collaboration

• Work comfortably with both senior Finance stakeholders and engineering/platform teams
• Understand enough corporate finance to engage credibly on processes such as journal entries, revenue recognition, treasury, forecasting and related finance activities
• Document prototype outcomes and support an effective transition of successful concepts toward the appropriate delivery/production teams
