Summary

We are seeking a motivated Junior Cloud Engineer to join our infrastructure team in Atlanta. This role is ideal for a junior professional who has a strong grasp of Kubernetes and a passion for automation. You will work specifically within the Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKS) environment, helping to automate deployment workflows and maintain high levels of system visibility through modern observability tools.

Key Responsibilities

Kubernetes Operations: Assist in managing and maintaining clusters within the Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKS) environment.
Automation: Support the development of automated CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scripts to reduce manual overhead.
Python Scripting: Write and maintain Python scripts to automate routine system tasks, data collection, and integration between cloud tools.
Observability & Monitoring: Monitor system health and performance using Grafana and Prometheus. Assist in building out dashboards that provide real-time insights into cluster performance.
Troubleshooting: Work alongside senior engineers to diagnose and resolve issues within the Kubernetes ecosystem and underlying cloud infrastructure.
Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of automation workflows, cluster configurations, and monitoring procedures.

Required Technical Skills

Kubernetes: Foundational understanding of K8s objects (Pods, Services, Deployments, ConfigMaps). Specific exposure to MKS (Mirantis) is highly preferred.
Scripting: Proficiency in Python for basic automation and task scripting.
Observability: Hands-on experience or academic knowledge of Grafana for data visualization and monitoring.
Automation Mindset: Familiarity with automation concepts (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, or GitHub Actions).
Operating Systems: Comfortable navigating and troubleshooting in Linux/Unix environments.
