Summary

AI Training Expert – Cybersecurity (Contract, Remote)

$75/hr | 12-Week Sprint | Fully Remote | Flexible Hours (30 hours per week minumum REQUIRED)

All candidates must be able to work withough sponsorship. No C2C. No third party submissions will be considered

About the Role

We''''re looking for experienced cybersecurity professionals to join a 12-week AI training engagement as contract contributors. You''''ll apply your domain expertise to evaluate and improve AI-generated responses on cybersecurity topics - threat analysis, vulnerability assessment, incident response, secure coding, and more - and build hands-on security tasks used to train AI systems.

This is not a traditional security role. No production on-call. No shift work. No compliance paperwork. Just your expertise, applied in a structured, fully remote environment.

This Can Be a Second Job

Daily hours are flexible - you work when it fits your schedule. The only requirement is a genuine commitment to at least 30 hours per week for the full 12 weeks. If you can do more, great - up to 40 hours per week is available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate AI-generated cybersecurity content - including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques - for real-world accuracy and validity
  • Design and solve security-focused technical problems used to train AI systems
  • Write clear technical explanations and security-relevant code
  • Annotate and rank model outputs to guide AI training and improvement
  • Maintain consistent quality and throughput throughout the engagement

Important: This Role Requires Coding Ability

The entry assessment is coding-based. Candidates must be comfortable writing code (Python is sufficient), navigating an unfamiliar codebase, and patching issues. Strong security knowledge without hands-on coding ability will not pass the assessment. Screen yourself honestly on this before applying.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with at least 5 years preferred (mid-level and above)
  • Working coding ability - Python is enough, but you must be comfortable reading and patching a codebase
  • Genuine availability for at least 30 hours per week across all 12 weeks
  • Strong written communication; able to explain complex concepts clearly and independently
  • General familiarity with AI/LLM tools (user-level is fine)
  • Based in the United States

Certifications (OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, and similar) are a plus - but hands-on practitioner experience matters more than credentials.

Who Tends to Do Well in This Role

  • Penetration testers, red team operators, and offensive security engineers who script and build their own tooling
  • Incident responders, DFIR analysts, and detection engineers with automation experience
  • Security engineers, AppSec engineers, and cloud security engineers whose day job involves code
  • Government or defense cyber professionals in technical, hands-on roles

Not a fit: GRC, policy, compliance, or audit-only backgrounds; certificate-only candidates without hands-on roles; SOC analysts whose work is purely console-driven with no scripting or coding exposure.

Compensation & Terms

  • $75/hr, paid on a regular cadence
  • Approximately $2,250–$3,000/week at 30–40 hours
  • Approximately $27,000–$36,000 for the full 12-week sprint
  • Contract position, fully remote

After the Sprint

No obligation to continue once the 12 weeks are up. Many contributors choose to keep working on a flexible, project-by-project basis - but that''''s entirely your call.

What to Expect

  1. Apply here and have a conversation with our recruiting team
  2. Complete a paid skills assessment (3–4 hours, $240 flat rate) - coding-based, must reflect your own expertise
  3. Onboard and begin the 12-week sprint
