job summary:
Client is seeking an experienced SAP IBP Consultant / Business Solutions Architect to support their ERP transformation and PDC (Parts Distribution Center) enablement initiatives.
This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing SAP IBP Demand, Supply & Response, and Inventory Optimization solutions, ensuring they can handle high-volume, exception-driven parts planning scenarios.
The consultant will act as a thought leader and change agent, bridging gaps between IBP capabilities and business requirements, and delivering scalable, high-performance planning solutions aligned to enterprise priorities.

responsibilities:
1. IBP Solution Architecture & Implementation
Own technical architecture and design for:
o SAP IBP (Demand, Supply & Response, Inventory Optimization)
o Integration tools (CPI-DS, SDI, RTI)
Configure and enhance IBP modules to support:
o High-volume transaction processing (POs, order lines)
o Exception-driven planning workflows
Ensure alignment with enterprise IT strategy and SAP roadmap
2. Requirements Analysis & Gap Resolution
Lead deep-dive sessions on business requirements
(Evaluate:
o What IBP can deliver via standard configuration
o Where gaps exist vs. business expectations
Provide clear recommendations:
o Configuration solutions
o Enhancements / workarounds
o Alternate approaches where IBP limitations exist
3. Exception-Based Planning & Performance Optimization
Design solutions to support:
o Mass exception handling (shortages, excess, supply constraints)
o Fast processing of large volumes of POs and planning data
Improve system responsiveness to meet business expectations for speed, throughput, and scalability
4. Business Engagement & Prioritization
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Parts Operations, and IT teams
Translate business pain points into actionable IBP solutions
Define and manage a prioritized roadmap aligned to:
o PDC enablement
o ERP rollout phases
o Post-go-live enhancements
5. Data & Planning Model Design
Define and optimize:
o Planning areas, key figures, and master data models
Support data readiness including:
o Data cleansing, transformation, and harmonization
Ensure alignment with ERP data structures and analytics platforms
6. Integration & End-to-End Flow
Support integration between:
o SAP IBP
o SAP ECC
o External systems (data lake, reporting tools)
Ensure seamless planning flow across:
o Demand ? Supply ? Execution
7. PDC & ERP Transformation Support
Align IBP design with PDC blueprinting and rollout strategy
Identify:
o What can be delivered during blueprint
o What will be delivered post-PDC
Support phased implementation and delivery
8. Delivery, Testing & Continuous Improvement
Lead/support full lifecycle:
o Design ? Build ? Test ? Deploy ? Hypercare
Support UAT, validation, and performance testing
Drive continuous improvement of IBP solutions and planning processes
9. Governance & Best Practices
Ensure adherence to:
o SAP IBP best practices
o IT standards and governance
Document processes, milestones, and solution architecture
Support long-term IBP capability maturity and scalability
qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of experience in SAP IBP implementation and architecture
Hands-on expertise in:
o Demand Planning
o Supply Planning / Response & Supply
o Inventory Optimization
Experience with:
o SAP CPI-DS / SDI / RTI integrations
o SAP ERP (ECC/S4 integration)
Strong experience in:
o High-volume, exception-based planning environments
o Business requirement analysis and solution design
Experience in full software development lifecycle and architecture design
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in:
o Aftermarket / parts / distribution-heavy business models
o Multi-ERP consolidation or transformation programs
Exposure to:
o Data lake / analytics platforms
o High-scale transaction environments (POs, order lines, exceptions)
Ability to assess IBP limitations and propose alternate solutions
