Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the company's Toptech Terminal Automation System (TAS) by managing system data, providing frontline technical support, and ensuring accurate entry of the following (but not limited to) customer, supplier, driver, and product information. The role serves as the primary (Tier 1) point of contact for TAS-related issues, working closely with Terminal Operations and Tier 2 support personnel to troubleshoot problems, maintain system integrity and support daily terminal operations. Rotating coverage during off-hours will also be expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Setup and maintain new data such as (but not limited to) suppliers, customers, accounts, EDIs, and product records in the Tophat/Toptech terminal automation system (TAS).
  • Provide frontline (Tier 1) support and troubleshooting to terminals and customers regarding any Toptech issues that may arise.
  • Provide data and assistance to second line (Tier 2) support to resolve any Toptech issues that may arise.
  • Assist in maintaining the communcal department e-mailbox.
  • Work with Terminal Operations to provide information related to accounts, drivers, and carriers for incident investigations as needed.
  • Create and maintain customer account files and contracts.
  • Conduct testing on new TAS versions that are deployed by second line support.
  • Assist in special projects as necessary. Create Power Point presentations and various spreadsheets.
  • Backfill for other Data Operations personnel during vacations and/or illness.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in I.T. or Business, or equivalent work experience.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Must be familiar with interfacing systems and organizations;
  • Must have strong communications skills (verbal and written);
  • Must be effective in communicating, coordinating, and implementing changes. Strong Customer Service skills.
  • Strong business computer skills and the ability to learn numerous software packages. Knowledge of SQL a plus.
  • Must be willing to be on call 24x7 and provide after-hours support during rotating on-call coverage.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Must have strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be customer focused.
  • Must have demonstrated time and project management skills.
  • Must have the ability to re-prioritize workload when necessary.
  • Understanding and knowledge of computers and standard operating systems.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Toptech TopHAT7/TMS7 systems preferred.
  • Experience with EDI Authorization services (DTN TABS/Toptech TDS) preferred.
  • Experience with SQL preferred.


Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
