Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Java Engineer to collaborate across engineering disciplines including design, architecture, configuration, and qualification. The ideal candidate will be a Java Subject Matter Expert with strong technical depth, hands-on problem-solving skills, and experience building scalable, high-performance systems in the Financial Services domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a technical lead and Java SME across engineering teams
• Design and implement scalable APIs using Core Java and Spring Boot
• Drive architecture decisions focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability
• Build and enhance event-driven applications using pub-sub communication models
• Lead legacy application modernization and enhancements
• Apply best practices in microservices, DDD, observability, and security
• Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization

Ensure robust API design including retries, exception handling, and fault tolerance

Technical Skills Required

• Expert in Core Java (multithreading, streams, transaction management)
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and RESTful API development
• Microservices architecture and Domain Driven Design (DDD)
• Event-driven architecture, messaging, and pub-sub systems
• Performance tuning, testing, and observability
• Strong understanding of security principles and API reliability patterns

Architecture & Design Expertise

• API design from high-level requirements to implementation
• High availability, low latency, and disaster recovery design
• Knowledge of monolithic, microservices, and serverless architectures
• Experience handling retries, failures, and inter-service communication
