Senior Data Engineer - Advanced Analytics & GenAI Solutions

Location: Orlando, FL - Onsite 4 days/week (1 remote day)

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join a forward-thinking Decision Science & Integration team. This group leverages advanced technologies, optimization techniques, statistical modeling, and next-generation analytics to build innovative tools that drive data-informed decisions across a wide range of business areas.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will:

• Lead the research, design, and development of advanced analytic data solutions using GenAI technologies.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements, data sources, and strategic objectives across multiple business units.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines and modern data architectures that enable high-impact analytics and decision-support solutions.
• Partner closely with product, data science, and client teams to take analytical tools from concept to production, including planning, estimation, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Participate in design reviews, conduct hands-on engineering work, and communicate technical approaches to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience & Technical Skills

• 7+ years of experience in a data engineering role, including work across multiple environments (Dev, QA, Prod) with DevOps-based code deployment/promotion processes.
• Proven experience translating project scope and high-level requirements into actionable data engineering tasks.
• Strong background defining solutions for sophisticated data engineering challenges in support of advanced analytics.
• Experience working with GenAI models, tools, and frameworks.
• Understanding of Knowledge Graphs, Data Mesh, and modern data-sharing architectures.
• 3+ years designing and building relational databases (Snowflake or PostgreSQL preferred).
• 3+ years of experience with version control platforms such as GitLab or GitHub.
• 2+ years with job orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Amazon MWAA, GitLab Runners, or UC4.
• Demonstrated ability to work across multiple project teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience estimating level-of-effort for data engineering work and contributing to project/sprint planning.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Extensive experience designing data structures and pipelines to meet business and analytics requirements.
• Multiple years of hands-on experience with ELT/ETL development, SQL, and Python.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture, preferably AWS.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• Additional experience with:
  • Data engineering level-of-effort estimation and project planning
  • Sprint planning and Agile methodologies
  • Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Cloud architectures, ideally AWS
