Senior Applications Engineer HR & Finance

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Lake Forest, IL that is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer HR & Finance. This position is ideal for a strategic technology leader who enjoys solving complex business challenges, influencing product direction, and guiding teams through the successful delivery of enterprise applications.

Responsibilities:
* Lead requirements gathering and solution design sessions with business and technical stakeholders
* Translate business needs into scalable, secure, and sustainable technical solutions
* Drive the architecture and delivery of initiatives within the Workday HRIS and Financials ecosystem
* Develop solution designs, technical documentation, and implementation roadmaps
* Partner with architects, product teams, and development teams to deliver business-critical enhancements and new capabilities
* Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
* Conduct technical assessments, proof of concepts, and feasibility analyses for new solutions
* Identify project risks, dependencies, and constraints while providing mitigation recommendations
* Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, IT strategies, and business objectives
* Provide technical leadership throughout the application lifecycle, from concept through implementation and support
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive successful project outcomes
* Influence product strategy, roadmap development, and feature prioritization
* Analyze complex business and technical challenges and recommend effective solutions

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
* 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise applications, or software delivery leadership roles
* Experience supporting or implementing Workday HRIS and/or Workday Financials solutions
* Strong background in enterprise application architecture, integration strategies, and systems design
* Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
* Ability to communicate effectively with executive stakeholders, business partners, and technical teams
* Experience evaluating emerging technologies and driving innovation initiatives
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Preferred Skills:
* Experience with cloud-based enterprise applications and integrations
* Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and governance practices
* Experience leading cross-functional teams, vendors, or managed service providers
* Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and product-based operating models

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
