QA Tester (17557)

Baer is looking for QA Tester for a 9+ month Federal remote project.

Overview
The QA Tester is responsible for executing planned testing activities and maintaining high standards of test and defect management. This role helps ensure software quality by providing accurate, reliable testing results that project teams can trust.
Description:

• Create and maintain test scripts based on business requirements and process flows.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.
• Execute test cases across various testing phases, including:
  • Unit Testing Support
  • System Integration Testing (SIT)
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Capture and maintain testing evidence and results.
• Log, triage, retest, and verify defects.
• Ensure defect records are complete with clear reproduction steps, screenshots, test data, and severity classifications.
• Support test data preparation and perform environment smoke testing.
• Monitor daily test execution progress and report basic testing metrics, including planned vs. executed tests and pass/fail status.
• Assist in coordinating test cycles by managing schedules, invitations, tester onboarding, and issue follow-ups.
• Maintain testing repositories and documentation standards within tools such as Jira, ALM, Solution Manager, or Cloud ALM.
• Follow established testing processes, naming conventions, and quality standards.

Requirement:

• United States Citizen with Active Secret Clearance
• Understanding of software testing principles and defect management processes.
• Experience creating and executing test cases and test scripts.
• Familiarity with testing tools such as Jira, ALM, Solution Manager, or similar platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Ability to track progress, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Previous experience in software quality assurance or testing activities.
• Knowledge of SIT, UAT, and defect lifecycle management.
• Bachelors Degree.
