Location: Des Moines, IA
Duration: 12 months

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Mobile Engineer 3 to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing/Piping, or Central Utility Plant Operations) while being multi-skilled across others.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire/life safety, and control systems.
• Travel between multiple facilities to ensure proper operation and compliance with standards.
• Oversee facility services including preventive maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, contracted services, and general upkeep.
• Maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment through cleaning, inspection, calibration, and part replacement.
• Record operational readings and make necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
• Ensure safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean, safe workplace.
• Conduct periodic checks of tools and instrument inventory.
• Monitor quality and pricing of work performed by outside contractors.
• Comply with all safety procedures, recognize hazards, and propose corrective measures.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of experience in commercial building system maintenance and repair.
• Strong ability to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• EPA 608 Type II Certification.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driver's license.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license not required.

Preferred Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal Certification.
