Backend Developer

About the Role
We are looking for experienced full stack engineers to join a high-performing cloud enablement engineering team building new capabilities from the ground up. This is hands-on, greenfield engineering work - if you enjoy building new systems rather than maintaining old ones, this is the role for you. You'll work in small engineering pods alongside talented peers, solving meaningful infrastructure and automation problems that have real organizational impact.
What You'll Be Working On
You'll contribute to the development of a Terraform provider written in Go that acts as middleware between Terraform and downstream APIs, helping reduce infrastructure provisioning time from months to hours. You'll also contribute to the build-out of a new API Gateway designed for high availability and high transaction throughput, and develop internal services around resource identification, unique ID generation, tagging and FinOps automation, and workload identity and short-lived authorization token systems. You'll follow full SDLC practices including version control, branching, pull requests, Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, and unit and functional testing, and provide Level 2/3 engineering support for deployed solutions.
What We're Looking For
Strong experience with compiled languages is essential - Go is the top preference, followed by Python and then Java. You should have a solid understanding of API development and API gateway concepts, including how gateway policies work. Familiarity with version control workflows, Jenkins pipelines, and SDLC discipline in a team-based environment is required. Comfort working with infrastructure concepts and Terraform is a strong plus, and experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth2, JWT, or mTLS is a bonus. We're targeting candidates with 6 or more years of overall software or platform engineering experience.

Architect Role - Additional Details
We are also hiring one Application Architect for this engagement. The Architect will be responsible for understanding the full scope of the API Gateway, taking an existing proof of concept to a completed, fully built-out production state, and providing technical leadership in defining the gateway architecture going forward. This role requires 4 or more years of hands-on experience designing and supporting API platforms or API gateway-based architectures, deep knowledge of API design including RESTful APIs, versioning, error handling, and backward compatibility, and extensive experience troubleshooting large-scale distributed production environments. Strong observability and telemetry experience - logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting - is also required.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $66.00 - $70.00/hr.
