Experience: 5 years of expierence in an engineering management role with responsibility for both people leadership and technical oversight. Requires skills and experience to involve:
- Engineering management experience leading and supervising software engineering teams across multiple technical domains.
- Strong foundation in software engineering and computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, system design, concurrency).
- Experience overseeing development primarily in modern backend and cloud-based systems (including Java and JavaScript-based services).
- Ability to guide teams on scalable, maintainable, and secure system design.
- Experience with cloud-native and distributed systems, including containerized environments and CI/CD practices.
- Oversight of architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product, data science, and platform teams.
- Development and execution of technical roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
Job duties: Oversee and manage multiple technology teams or departments, including staffing, workflow, and operational performance. Lead day-to-day operations and ensure goals and timelines are met. Coach and mentor managers and individual contributors, including performance management and career development. Lead major technical initiatives and oversee the design and delivery of complex systems. Maintain and execute technical roadmaps aligned with business objectives. Provide guidance on architecture, scalability, security, reliability, and performance. Drive strategic planning and decision-making for cross-functional technology initiatives. Manage hiring, onboarding, and retention for technical teams. Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation. Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders. Establish and maintain documentation, standards, and best practices.
