Summary

Job Description

The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS) is seeking a .NET Developer to support and modernize an on-premises SharePoint 2016 environment hosting custom C#/.NET solutions. This role will focus on migrating legacy ColdFusion applications into SharePoint, developing new web parts and user controls, and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity standards and Microsoft development best practices.


Key Responsibilities

Application Migration & Development

  • Assess existing ColdFusion applications and develop migration strategies to SharePoint 2016
  • Convert ColdFusion applications into C#/.NET user controls (ASCX) and SharePoint web parts
  • Develop and maintain scalable, database-driven web applications using C#/.NET

Custom Development & Integration

  • Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint-based solutions using Visual Studio (2017 or newer)
  • Build and implement SharePoint timer jobs and custom workflows (on-prem and cloud environments)
  • Integrate applications with enterprise services and develop custom plug-ins

Security & Compliance

  • Remediate vulnerabilities identified through Fortify scans
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements and Microsoft best practices
  • Maintain secure coding standards across all applications

Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide backup support for application troubleshooting and enhancements
  • Collaborate with developers and SharePoint administrators to resolve issues and improve performance

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in .NET web application development
  • Strong experience developing SharePoint web parts, user controls (ASCX), and timer jobs
  • Experience with C#/.NET Framework and Visual Studio 2017+
  • At least 1 year of ColdFusion experience
  • Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and XML
  • Experience with SQL Server and Oracle databases (TOAD preferred)

Certifications (Required Prior to Start)
Must possess one of the following:

  • CISSP
  • CASP+
  • ENSA
  • Security+ CE
  • DoN-approved graduate degree (cyber/IT related)

Compliance Requirements

  • Must obtain and adhere to CSWF designation from ISSM after onboarding
  • Must sign and comply with Information Systems Privileged Access Agreement (PAA)
