Skills

  • Robotics AI Architect/Principal Robotics Architect/Robot Learning Engineer
  • Cross-Embodiment

Summary

About the Role

We are seeking a Physical AI Architect to support an advanced robotics initiative focused on building reusable Physical AI capabilities across multiple robot platforms. You will define a common architecture that lets learned policies and robotic skills operate across robots with different morphologies, replacing one-off integrations for each platform. The platform portfolio includes humanoids, bi-manual mobile manipulators, quadrupeds, AMRs, cobots, and drones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect reusable Physical AI capabilities across multiple robotic platforms and morphologies.
  • Determine when to apply deterministic algorithms, motion planning, learned policies, or reinforcement learning.
  • Design common observation/action interfaces and abstractions for sensors, effectors, kinematics, and control.
  • Develop approaches for learned-policy deployment, execution, monitoring, fallback, and command constraints.
  • Address high-DoF challenges including collision avoidance, multi-arm coordination, kinematics, and motion.
  • Develop and validate capabilities in simulation and on physical hardware.
  • Support ROS 2-based architecture and integration.
  • Establish repeatable methods for evaluating task success, inference latency, interventions, and sim-to-hardware performance.
  • Collaborate with robotics, software, controls, embedded, and hardware engineers.
  • Document architecture decisions and enable internal teams to maintain and extend the platform.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant hands-on experience with Physical AI, robotics algorithms, robot learning, or autonomous systems.
  • Proven deployment of algorithms or learned policies on physical robots, not simulation alone.
  • Strong foundation in kinematics, motion planning, optimization, controls, collision avoidance, or reinforcement learning.
  • Experience with ROS / ROS 2 and Linux-based robotics environments.
  • Experience with complex or high-DoF robotic systems.
  • Strong software engineering skills, ideally in Python and/or C++.
  • Experience with robotics simulation and hardware validation.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous, research-oriented problems into practical engineering solutions.
  • Strong architecture skills and comfort working directly with senior technical stakeholders.
