Controls Technician - Building Automation Systems
Location: Oklahoma City, OK

About the Role: We are seeking a Controls Technician to support the installation, programming, startup, and service of commercial HVAC and building automation systems throughout the Oklahoma City area. This role will work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to deliver high-quality control system solutions for a variety of commercial and industrial facilities.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with HVAC controls, low-voltage systems, troubleshooting, and controls integration. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in the field, solving technical problems, and supporting complex building systems.

Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, program, and service building automation and HVAC control systems
  • Work with DDC controllers, low-voltage wiring, sensors, control panels, and networked systems
  • Interpret blueprints, control drawings, and engineering specifications to support installation and startup activities
  • Perform point-to-point checkout, system commissioning, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance
  • Support integration of HVAC equipment, lighting controls, and related building systems
  • Troubleshoot communication and controls issues involving BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based networks
  • Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and customers to ensure successful project execution
  • Document service activity, project updates, and completed work accurately
  • Maintain strong customer relationships while representing the company in a professional manner
  • Assist with system upgrades, retrofits, and ongoing service support as needed

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience with HVAC controls, building automation systems, or low-voltage controls installation
  • Experience working with BAS/BMS, DDC controls, or controls integration environments
  • Understanding of electrical systems, control wiring, relays, sensors, and network communication
  • Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP networking, or related control protocols preferred
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and control drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working independently in the field and supporting multiple job sites
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required

Preferred Experience
  • Niagara, Tridium, Distech, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Alerton, or similar BAS platforms
  • Startup and commissioning experience
  • Commercial HVAC systems knowledge
  • Experience supporting service and retrofit projects
