Summary

Lawson Analyst

Hybrid Role (First and last weeks on-site)

Compensation: $65 per hour

Part-time; approximately 10 hours/week over 4 months.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Client is seeking a part-time Lawson Analyst to provide expert assessment, optimization, and support for their existing, live Lawson system, with a focus on financial and supply chain modules. This role centers on Lawson system architecture, calculations, requisition interfaces, and standard Lawson formats. The analyst will conduct comprehensive system evaluations, recommend configuration improvements, and troubleshoot requisition interfaces and data workflows. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop technical and functional documentation, and deliver targeted training to enhance internal staff knowledge and system sustainability. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Lawson in a healthcare environment, deep technical expertise in system calculations and integrations, and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This engagement is not a new implementation, but rather a focused effort on system assessment, optimization, integration support, and staff enablement. The role requires a balance of hands-on technical work and advisory support, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with internal teams.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of the current Lawson system environment, including configurations, calculations, requisition workflows, interfaces, and data flows.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Lawson financial and supply chain modules, focusing on system calculations, standard formats, and data structures.
  • Review and analyze existing Lawson calculations, rules, and setups to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or optimization opportunities.
  • Support and troubleshoot requisition interfaces and integrations with clinical, inventory, and financial systems.
  • Assist with data extraction, validation, and transformation from source systems, ensuring accurate data movement into Lawson.
  • Provide configuration and optimization recommendations aligned with Lawson best practices, organizational policies, and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with finance, supply chain, IT, and operational stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into system improvements.
  • Develop and maintain technical and functional documentation, including current-state findings, future-state recommendations, interface mappings, and calculation logic.
  • Deliver hands-on training and knowledge transfer to internal staff to enhance Lawson system understanding, configurations, calculations, interfaces, and daily support processes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by clearly communicating findings, risks, and recommended next steps to leadership and project stakeholders.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Strong hands-on experience supporting Lawson in a live production healthcare environment.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Lawson system calculations, setup, and configuration logic.
  • Solid understanding of standard Lawson formats, data structures, and processing workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and troubleshooting Lawson requisition interfaces and integrations.
  • Strong background in system integrations, including interface design, data mapping, and error resolution.
  • Experience assessing existing systems and providing clear, actionable configuration and optimization recommendations.
  • Ability to extract, analyze, and validate data to support accurate processing and reporting.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users and provide effective training.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Healthcare industry experience, especially in hospital or clinic settings (preferred).
  • Consulting, advisory, or interim support experience (preferred).
  • Familiarity with financial, supply chain, or procurement workflows in healthcare (preferred).
  • Experience supporting change management and team enablement initiatives (preferred).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field (preferred).
