Job DescriptionPosition Overview
We are seeking a Junior ETL/ELT Developer to support a key federal client. The ideal candidate will have some experience or a strong academic background in data engineering, data integration, and ETL/ELT development. Familiarity with SAP Data Services and Oracle is a plus.
This is a hybrid role based in the Washington, DC area, requiring on-site presence three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Assist in creating and updating technical documentation for data processes.
- Follow best practices in development and documentation.
- Help maintain existing SAP Data Services implementations and troubleshoot issues.
- Work collaboratively with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to implement data solutions.
- Participate in gathering and documenting business and technical requirements for data workflows.
- Support the development of SAP Data Services jobs to extract, transform, and load data from source systems into Oracle-based data marts and data warehouses.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Management, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience with ETL processes in data warehousing projects.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong foundational SQL skills.
- Familiarity with Oracle PL/SQL or similar database programming languages.
- Exposure to SAP Data Services or similar ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, IBM DataStage).
- Basic understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling.
- Ability to work in Agile development environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to learn and convey technical concepts clearly.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn.
