Senior Robotics Engineer, Perception & Sensor Fusion
W2- NO SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE

We are seeking a Senior Robotics Engineer specializing in perception and sensor fusion to drive the development of next-generation autonomous robotic systems. In this role, you will help bring advanced robotics solutions from prototype to production, enabling reliable, high-throughput automation in real-world environments.

You will work on solving complex perception challenges in dynamic and constrained settings, contributing directly to systems that operate at scale in logistics and warehouse automation environments.
Responsibilities

Perception and Computer Vision
  • Develop algorithms to detect and estimate 6-DoF object poses and 3D dimensions in challenging conditions, including occlusion and variable lighting
  • Build and optimize perception pipelines using both classical and deep learning methods

Sensor Fusion and Calibration
  • Integrate and synchronize data from multi-modal sensors including cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, and radar/ultrasonic systems
  • Perform intrinsic and extrinsic calibration (e.g., hand-eye calibration, LiDAR-camera alignment)

Localization and Environment Awareness
  • Implement lightweight localization techniques such as point-cloud registration, marker-based alignment, and feature-based mapping
  • Enable robust perception in structured, repetitive environments
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in robotics perception and sensor fusion
  • 2+ years of experience in a senior or lead technical role

Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in C++ (modern standards) and Python
  • Experience with ROS1 and/or ROS2
  • Hands-on experience with 3D sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, radar) and sensor synchronization
  • Deep understanding of multi-sensor calibration techniques
  • Experience with computer vision and perception frameworks:
    • Deep learning: YOLO, Mask R-CNN or similar
    • Classical vision: feature matching, PnP, RANSAC
  • Proficiency with tools such as OpenCV, PCL, and Open3D
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SLAM-lite, marker-based systems (e.g., AprilTags, ArUco)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based robotics monitoring or logging platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Experience deploying robotic systems in production environments
Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation and equity options
  • Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision)
  • 401(k) with employer matching
  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Professional development and continuous learning opportunities
