Role Summary
The ServiceNow MID Server Administrator is a technical expert responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining ServiceNow MID Servers to ensure secure and reliable communication between the ServiceNow platform and on-premises or cloud-based infrastructure. This role supports critical ITOM capabilities such as Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and integrations, contributing to accurate CMDB data and platform performance. The position involves collaboration with infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity teams to uphold system security, stability, and automation across enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain ServiceNow MID Servers across multiple environments to support discovery and integrations.
- Monitor the health, performance, and availability of MID Servers to ensure stable operations.
- Manage lifecycle activities including upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and security certificate renewals.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, credential, firewall, routing, and communication issues related to MID Server functionality.
- Configure and support ServiceNow Discovery by managing schedules, credentials, IP ranges, and network access requirements.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, cybersecurity, and server teams to ensure MID Server compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Maintain integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise tools such as MECM/SCCM, Tanium, SolarWinds, SNMP devices, Active Directory, and cloud platforms.
- Develop and update operational procedures, technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles related to MID Server operations.
- Monitor logs and system metrics to identify performance issues, failures, and data quality problems.
- Assist with firewall configurations, DNS setup, service account management, and certificate handling to support platform security and connectivity.
Qualifications
- High School diploma with 9+ years of related experience or equivalent technical experience.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security).
- Proven experience deploying, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting ServiceNow MID Servers in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of ITOM workflows, Discovery schedules, and CMDB data management.
- Operational knowledge of secure communication protocols, firewall requirements, and certificate management.
- Experience troubleshooting credential issues (Active Directory, SNMP, SSH, WMI), network boundaries, and multi-domain environments.
- Proficiency in monitoring infrastructure health and performing root cause analysis from logs and metrics.
- Foundational knowledge of enterprise serialization, Windows/Linux server administration, network protocols, and cloud environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet security and operational standards.
- This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 - $52.00 hourly
