Role Overview:
We are seeking a Sr Google Cloud Engineer with 8+ years of experience administering enterprise collaboration environments and strong hands-on expertise in GCP, Terraform, security, administration, scripting, and automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Google Cloud and Google Workspace governance, identity and access management, security controls, endpoint management, compliance, automation, and enterprise collaboration services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage users, groups, organizational units (OUs), and lifecycle policies through the Google Admin Console.
- Automate employee onboarding and offboarding workflows and access provisioning.
- Administer and secure Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Meet, and Chat.
- Implement spam/phishing protection, DLP, sharing controls, retention policies, and data protection.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, including GCP IAM, networking, security, monitoring, and CI/CD components.
- Implement and maintain SSO, SAML, and OAuth integrations with enterprise Identity Providers.
- Enforce 2-Step Verification, Context-Aware Access, Zero Trust, and granular access controls.
- Manage endpoint security and compliance across Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, ChromeOS, and other supported platforms.
- Configure and manage domains, DNS, mail routing, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, delegated access, and third-party application governance.
- Administer Google Vault for retention, legal holds, eDiscovery, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor security alerts, admin logs, and security controls; investigate threats and remediate configuration issues.
- Build workflow automation and reporting using Google Apps Script, Admin SDK, and Python.
- Generate access reviews, compliance reports, audit evidence, and operational dashboards.
- Document cloud and collaboration standards, participate in change management, and provide administrator/user training.
Required / Essential Skills:
- 8+ years of experience administering enterprise collaboration / Google Workspace environments.
- Strong enterprise-scale experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, GCP IAM, networking, cloud security, monitoring, and CI/CD.
- Strong understanding of Gmail mail flow, authentication, DLP, Drive governance, and data protection.
- Experience with identity lifecycle management, directory synchronization, SSO/SAML/OAuth, and access policies.
- Experience with endpoint management/MDM across Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, and ChromeOS.
- Strong scripting and automation experience using Python and/or Google Apps Script.
- Hands-on experience with Google Admin SDK and reporting.
- Experience with Google Vault, retention, legal holds, eDiscovery, and audit/compliance processes.
Preferred Skills:
- Deployment of Zero Trust security controls beyond basic MFA.
- Experience implementing tiered access models and granular Drive/sharing policies.
- Experience supporting eDiscovery workflows and audit evidence generation.
- Strong understanding of cloud security governance and enterprise compliance.
- Experience with change management, administrator training, and user adoption programs.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
