Scientific Programs Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Scientific Programs Specialist to support our scientific meetings and events. This remote position offers the opportunity to play a key role in enhancing the experience of attendees and program organizers through effective coordination and communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the abstract submission process and ensure data accuracy.
• Manage the organization and publication of scientific program content.
• Provide customer support to attendees, speakers, and program organizers via email and phone.
• Oversee the sorting and review of scientific abstracts for meetings.
• Collaborate with program organizers to develop and implement online program bulletins.
• Prepare and distribute necessary documentation and reports for meetings.
• Assist with logistical tasks, including shipment coordination for events.

Skills

• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in program support or coordination.
• Strong proficiency in data management using Excel or Google Sheets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a scientific nonprofit or professional association setting.
• Familiarity with abstract management systems, particularly Planstone.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software such as Asana.
• Background in event planning or coordination.
