Job Description

Manager, Platform Integrations & Engineering

The opportunity

The Manager, Platform Integrations & Engineering leads a global team that designs, builds, and supports secure, scalable integrations for CRG Digital platforms and clinical research capabilities. You will set engineering standards across enterprise applications, data platforms, vendor ecosystems, and cloud technologies, while guiding the shift from bespoke development to reusable, configurable, and increasingly automated solutions.

What you'll do
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a global team of integration and platform engineers responsible for development and production support; set clear expectations for quality, ownership, delivery, and operational excellence.
  • Provide technical oversight across SQL, Python, Talend, MuleSoft, Oracle SOA, Tidal, Snowflake, and Databricks. Partner with Platform Architecture and solution architects to turn enterprise architecture direction into repeatable engineering patterns.
  • Set and enforce standards for API, file-based, database, event-driven, batch, and cloud integrations, including SOPs, reusable patterns, naming and coding conventions, technical documentation, and lifecycle management.
  • Promote configuration and reuse first, with clear criteria for when teams should configure, reuse, extend, custom-build, retain, modernize, consolidate, or replace a solution. Minimize bespoke development and modernize legacy integrations toward API-first and cloud-native patterns.
  • Ensure integrations meet requirements for scalability, resilience, security, maintainability, performance, and operational support. Support enterprise applications, clinical and vendor platforms, APIs, cloud data platforms, external partners, and data movement into and across Snowflake, Databricks, and cloud object storage.
  • Advance CI/CD and DevOps maturity. Establish source control, branching, pull requests, peer reviews, release management, and automated testing; build reusable unit and regression testing frameworks for standard integration patterns.
  • Automate build validation, code quality, static analysis, vulnerability and secrets scanning, deployment gates, and release validation. Use AI-assisted development and testing where appropriate for code, documentation, test cases, troubleshooting, and repeatable work, with governance and human oversight
  • Ensure practices comply with applicable SDLC, change-control, validation, cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory requirements. Maintain segregation of duties, traceability, deployment approval, and production access controls.
  • Keep integration assets documented with clear ownership, dependencies, support procedures, and lifecycle plans. Partner with Run-the-Engine and support teams on escalation paths, knowledge transfer, support documentation, and engineering ownership.
  • Keep production integration monitored, observable, supportable, and resilient. Establish proactive logging, alerting, dependency management, and automated recovery where feasible; drive root-cause analysis and permanent fixes for recurring failures.
  • Track availability, failures, incident volume, mean time to detect and resolve, deployment quality, defect leakage, technical debt, SLA performance, development cycle time, quality, automation, productivity, integration health, capacity, and operational risk.
  • Balance project delivery, modernization, technical debt, production support, and strategic priorities; allocate resources accordingly. Partner with Product, Architecture, Data, Quality, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, business stakeholders, and manage vendor or contractor resources to the same standards.

What you will bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Comparable to 8+ years of progressive technology or integration engineering experience, including significant experience leading technical engineering teams.
  • Strong experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise integrations in complex production environments, including production-critical services and root-cause analysis and remediation.
  • Demonstrated technical experience with several of the following: Talend; MuleSoft / Anypoint Platform; Oracle SOA; SQL; Python; Snowflake; Databricks; and Tidal or comparable enterprise scheduling/orchestration technology.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, web services, file-based and database integrations, batch processing, middleware, enterprise integration patterns, and cloud data and integration architectures.
  • Experience with Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code review, and modern DevOps practices.

Preferred experience
  • Clinical research, life sciences, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry.
  • GxP, Computer System Validation (CSV), regulated SDLC, change-control, and auditability requirements.
  • Modernizing legacy integration estates and moving teams toward API-first, reusable, cloud-native patterns.
  • Automated software-quality and security controls in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Data integration for enterprise data platforms and lakehouse architectures, including Snowflake, Databricks, and cloud object storage.
  • AI-assisted engineering in a controlled enterprise development environment.

How you lead

You bring technical credibility to design reviews and engineering decisions; establish disciplined standards; take ownership through root cause and lasting resolution; balance delivery with long-term architecture and sustainability; reduce manual effort, technical debt, duplication, and operational overhead; develop engineers into technical leaders; and work effectively across architecture, data, product, quality, cybersecurity, and business teams.
