Sales Engineer / Business Development Specialist

Location: Hybrid (U.S.-based; travel required)
Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 + Bonus + Stock Options
Travel: Domestic & International (Required)

Position Overview

This is a strategic, high-visibility role focused on driving business growth across aerospace, defense, and energy sectors. The Sales Engineer / Business Development Specialist will lead client engagement, develop technical proposals, and help expand key accounts-with the opportunity to build and lead a team as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with clients across aerospace, defense, and government sectors
  • Lead technical proposal development, ensuring compliance with regulatory and program requirements
  • Deliver technical presentations to audiences ranging from small teams to large-scale conferences
  • Travel for client meetings, tradeshows, and international engagements (monthly or as needed)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support program execution and long-term growth initiatives
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to strategic expansion efforts

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, engineering, or related industry
  • Background supporting NASA, Navy, DoD, or similar environments strongly preferred
  • Strong experience with technical writing, proposals, and customer-facing presentations
  • Comfortable with public speaking and building relationships in professional and social settings
  • Tradeshow experience required; experience managing large-scale deals is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related field preferred
  • PMP, ISO, or program management experience is a plus
